THE BRIEF

Our clients wanted to maximise their luxurious and unique upstairs space by treating it as an extension of the ground floor, so that they could have access to TV, SKY, Blu-Ray and music in any room of the house. We were asked to effectively zone the space into two areas – the Master Suite, and their teenage son’s room, both with their own mezzanines. To get the most out of their set up without having to purchase quadruple the amount of equipment, our clients wanted the equipment located on the mezzanine levels to ‘talk to’ the televisions in the bedrooms. This way, the bedrooms could remain clutter free and calming. In contrast, our clients wanted their son’s mezzanine level to be a gamer’s paradise, with full connectivity and the ability to play the latest games on an impressive screen.

SET UP

The aim of this set up was to provide two separate bedroom and mezzanine zones with full access to TV, Blu-Ray and audio facilities. In the master bedroom, we installed a 40” Panasonic television, and on the adjoining mezzanine level, a 37”. Both televisions are serviced by a SKY Q box and Blu-Ray player located on the mezzanine. Sound in the master bedroom is enhanced with a Sonos Play Bar mounted under the TV. The teenage son’s mezzanine has been set up as a gaming zone, with a 50” Panasonic TV, SKY Q box, Xbox One and PS4. An HDMI Matrix links all the equipment to the bedroom, which has a 42” Panasonic TV on a Vogel adjustable bracket. We also installed a Sonos Play 5.
